Bobby Glenn Faglie

(30 Aug 1940 - 25 Jun 2015)

Bobby Faglie, 74, of Blanket, passed away on June 25, 2015, at his home in Blanket, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.
Bobby Glenn Faglie was born on Aug. 30, 1940, in Ballinger to Newt Harrison Faglie and Ira Macagie (Jones) Faglie. He grew up and attended school in Ballinger until ninth grade when he left school to work in the cotton fields along side his family. He later served his country in the United States Navy working as a Sea Bea and was stationed at Si Pan.
Over the years, Bobby had owned and operated Bobby Faglie Trucking, designed and built a drilling rig, and had worked for West Texas Cat for many years in the Midland Odessa area.
On Jan. 2, 1998, Bobby married Donna Merworth Gibson in Abilene, and together they made their home in Midland for the next five years. During this time, Bobby had worked for Prater Equipment, operating heavy equipment on jobs in the Midland and Panhandle areas. In March of 2003, Bobby and Donna moved to Blanket and purchased the old “Drop in the Bucket Creamery.” Working side by side over the next eight years, they turned it into a home that would host their blended families and a passel of grandkids!
Bobby loved planting and working in his garden each year. He also looked forward to the “Faglie Reunion” where the men would congregate at the domino table for the entire weekend playing “42” and reminiscing about their childhood days, while quenching his thirst with his good friend Jack Daniels.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Donna Faglie of Blanket; daughters, Tina Mitchell of Merkel, Dana Wilson of Baton Rough, Debbie McCullum of Odessa, Jessica Steed of Blanket, and Kristal Menchaca of Virginia; sons, Bobby Joe Faglie of Ranger and Jeremy Gibson of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is also survived by his sister, Edith Wolfe of Garland; brothers, Larry Faglie of Uvalde and Roy Faglie of San Antonio; as well as 20 grandkids and eight great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin, Alvin, and Melvin Faglie; and sisters, Vera Brandt, Vida Jones and Katheryn Flemming.
