Viola Stotts age 69 of Valentine died Friday June 17, 2005 at the Life Care Center in Elkhorn, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday June 20th at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bernard Berger and Father Carl Ferris and Deacon Lawrence Kocer officiating. Burial was in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery at Cody with Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in charge of arrangements. Rosary was held June 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines.
Viola was born Dec. 1, 1935 to L. Keith and Ruth Marie (Larsen) Lessert at Omaha, NE. She was married to Warren W. Stotts on Feb. 27, 1954 at Valentine. Viola owned and operated Flower Land for twelve years, she also worked as a caseworker for Health and Human Services.
Viola is survived by four sons, Steven Stotts and wife Mary of Topeka, KS, Keith Stotts of Valentine, Richard Stotts of San Antonio, TX and Andy Stotts and wife Ann of Columbus, one daughter Eileen Thompson of Rapid City, SD, 8 grandchildren; Kathryn Stotts, Mark Stotts, Andrew Stotts, Shelia Mathers, Caryn Thompson, Kelli Peterson, Mike Stotts and Isaac Stotts, 8 great grandchildren, Mercedes, Paige, Katelyn, Timothy, Katherine, Abigail, Vaughn and Megan, four sisters; Joan Harner of Omaha, Lynn Withers of Alliance, Gayle Kocer of Martin and Helen Ann Johnson of Elkhorn, four brothers; Dick Lessert of Lake Minatare, Lawrence "Ski;" Lessert of Morrill, Mark Lessert of Chicago, Ill. and Jerry Lessert of Porcupine, SD
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband Warrin 1995 and a sister Kaye Buckles.
