Joseph Baatz

Joseph Baatz, 69, of Glade Springs, Daniels, West Virginia, passed away at his home Monday, October 19, 2015. Born September 20, 1946, in Elyria, he was the son of the late Irving Baatz and Elizabeth Olah Baatz.
Mr. Baatz was retired from auto sales in the Cleveland area, having worked in that industry since his early teen age years. At the time of his retirement, he last worked at the Brunswick Auto Mart in Brunswick.
Mr. Baatz was a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam Conflict. He and his wife served as volunteers at the Shady Spring Library and the Shady Spring Elementary School Reading Buddies Program. Mr. Baatz made his home at Glade Springs since 2010 and enjoyed golfing and cars in his spare time.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Karla Krendl Baatz; a daughter, Katrina Palker and her husband, Guy of Palm City, Florida; grandchildren, Leif , Karlie, and Louisa Palker of Florida; two sisters, Mary and Betty of Ohio, along with many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Els for Autism, 3900 Military Trail, Suite 200, Jupiter, FL 33458 or to Hospice of Southern WV, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802, in memory of Mr. Joseph Baatz.
