Funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Lynn Hamby, 57, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Jackson's Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMr. Hamby passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his residence. He was born on August 25, 1954 in Alexander City, Alabama to Lucius Hamby and Lorene Pyron Hamby. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dadeville. Mr. Hamby was the youngest of ten children and was spoiled by all of his siblings. He graduated from Dadeville High School and went on to work for Russell Corporation for 28 years and Russell Lands for 5 years. He was always helpful to others and would do anything for anyone. He loved the Lord and studying the Bible, which he knew very well. Mr. Hamby enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, doing yard work, and playing softball on the church league team at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He loved his children and grandchildren and spending time and playing with each and every one of them.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his daughter, Jessica Hamby Nail (Chris) of Alexander City; son, Nicholas Hamby (Renee) of Auburn; grandchildren, Dillon Nail, Zachery Nail, Jackson Hamby, and Cameron Hamby; sisters, Carolyn Patterson, Shirley Blackwelder (Donald), and June Wright (Terry) all of Alexander City; brothers, James “Bud” Hamby (Prencella) and Terry Hamby (Linda) both of Jackson's Gap, and Ed Hamby (Betty), Larry Hamby (Kay), and Neal Hamby (Verna) all of Dadeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Felicia Holladay Hamby; his parents; and sister, Bobbie Hamby Lashley.
