Obituary
Palatka [Putnam County, Florida] - Patricia Pearl Porter Villeneuve passed away Tuesday, July 17th at her residence in East Palatka, Fl at the age of 97. She was born in Kerman, Ca September 21, 1909 and through her life made her home in many varied places; Mountain Grove, Mo, Bartow, and Orlando.
The family moved to Gainesville, FL in 1958 where she continued to work in and out of the home in a variety of fields, real estate agent, secretary and administrative assistant, not to forget the roles of mother and grandmother!
Upon retirement in the late 70's, she and her husband Vernon took to the road with a series of campers, trailers and RV's eventually settling down in Raleigh, NC near one of the daughters. In 2002, she returned to FL with her daughter LaVerne where she spent her remaining years on the banks of the St. Johns River in East Palatka.
She is survived by two daughters, LaVonne V. Cox, N. Augusta, SC, LaVerne V. Cheshire, son-in-law, Keith Cheshire, East Palatka, FL, five grandchildren: Teri Lynn Williams, Gwen C. Tant, John C. Cox, Cheryl Cheshire Stallworth and Coye Vernon Cheshire. There are also eight great grandchildren; Michael Cox, Lindsey Cox, Karen Viega, Matthew Williams, Katharine Williams, Cathleen Tant, Ryan Tant and William Stallworth.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Milam Funeral Home Chapel, 311 S. Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.
