Marion L. Silkensen

Marion L. Silkensen moved around during her childhood. Her father, Lyman LeRoy Silkensen, had different jobs in different places. Born in South Dakota on 10 Jun 1899, he was working as a telephone line man at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1919, according to his draft registration. Just three weeks earlier, he is said to have married Florence Marion Simonds. The next year, 1920, he was living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where his children were born. By 1930, when Marion was 5, the family was living in Galveston, Texas, where Lyman was Manager of the Frigidaire Company. They were still living in Galveston in 1940. Marion is said to have married Paul Hugo Johnson on 12 Aug 1946 in Denver, Colorado, and she died there on 18 Aug 1997.
