Stephen Algernon Lee

Stephen A. Lee, prominent lifelong resident of Mount Clemens, died Thursday evening at St. Joseph Hospital where he had been a patient two days.
Mr. Lee, 74, of 45 North Avenue, was born Sept. 23, 1890 in Mount Clemens, a son of the late Talmadge A. and Mary (Smith) Lee.
The late Rev. Thomas A. Luby of St. Peter's Catholic Church united Mr. Lee in marriage with Lillian A. Gerlach on June 23, 1921.
Mr. Lee was a World War I veteran, serving in France.
He and his father owned and operated the Lee Printing Co. until 1950, when the business was sold.
Mr. Lee was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Church, attending the 5:30 mass every morning, never missing until his recent illness.
He was a member of the Mount Clemens Council No. 744 Knights of Columbus; St. Vincent dePaul Society of St. Peter's and was serving as the society's vice president at the time of his death.
Mr. Lee was also a member of the Young Men's Order of Detroit; Fourth Degree Assembly No. 305, Knights of Columbus of Detroit and a member of the Old Crowd.
Other affiliations were the American Legion, Harry Ollrich Post No. 4 of Mount Clemens and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Oscar Andreas Post No. 1794.
