NILES - David "Dave" Klute of Belvidere, Ill., (formerly of Niles, Mich.) will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Cemetery in Niles at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11th. The service will be followed by a gathering at the home of his sister, Vicki Papczynski, at 2255 East Bertrand Road in Niles. The son of Hank and Helen Babcock Klute, Dave was a graduate of Niles High School and Western Michigan University. He enjoyed tennis, bowling and fishing. Dave passed away in December 2005 of cancer. All friends/family are welcome to attend.
David Klute, age 60, of Belvidere, IL died Saturday morning, December 17, 2005 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
David was born October 24, 1945 in Niles, MI the son of Henry W. and Helen C. (Babcock) Klute. Over the years, David worked as a sales representative for various agricultural supply companies. Growing up he excelled in baseball and tennis. David earned a tennis scholarship to Western Michigan University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in science. Passions in life included his love to fish, bake and cook as well as bowl. As an avid bowler, he had a 300 game, served as president for three bowling leagues and was the former secretary/treasurer for the Men's Bowling Association in Belvidere, IL.
Survivors include his daughter, Christa Klute of Belleville, WI; sisters, Darla (Floyd) Walls and Vicki Papczynski both of Niles, MI; step-children, Richard (Mary) Baker of Groose Isle, MI, Dan (Jan) Baker of Cobb, WI and Becca (Rob) Trimble of Belvidere, IL; seven step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Sheila Baker of Belvidere, IL.
David is predeceased by his parents, Henry Klute and Helen Roberts, and infant sister, Susan D. Klute.
Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL with Ed Greenfield, Chaplain of OSF Hospice officiating. Friends may gather from 5:00 p.m. to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites were accorded. David's cremains will be buried with his parents at Mission Hills Cemetery in Niles, MI in the spring.
A memorial will be established in David's name and can be given in care of the family.
