Dorothea Mae Greer

Dorothea Mae Boland, also known as Nana, 82, gained her eternal wings on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. She passed away after a brief illness in Lubbock, Texas. The love of her life, Dale Boland, recently went to Heaven on November 6, 2018. After 63 years of marriage, she missed him terribly.
She was born May 1, 1936 to John and Edna Greer. She is preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers Jody Greer, Dewitt Greer, and Jerold Greer and one daughter Dianne Pence. She is survived by her children, Dennis Boland of Clyde, TX; Cheryl Robinson and husband Mike of Sheffield, TX; Dale Boland II and wife Nancy of Lovington, NM; Karen Yielding and husband Ronny of White Oak, TX; a sister Margaret Holmes and husband Tommy Joe of Iraan, TX; a brother Tommy Greer of Sheffield, TX and thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as nephews and nieces who she cherished.
Dorothea was a devoted employee for over 40 years at Liberty National Bank that later became Western Commerce Bank in Lovington. She loved her customers and would bend over backwards to make sure that each one received outstanding service with a smile. After retiring, she moved to Sheffield, Texas to take care of her husband, but talked daily about how much she missed working at the bank and seeing her favorite customer friends.
Although she will be missed by many, per her request, there will not be a memorial service. Instead, there will be a private family service in Sheffield and Scranton Texas at a later date.
