Edward H. Tann

Edward H. Tann, of Lakewood, Colo, formerly of Waterloo, died at a Denver Colo. hospital at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday of a heart condition.
He was born Dec. 15, 1916, at Fayette, the son of John and Jeannett Moore Tann. He married Zelma A. Milks on April 13, 1937, at Vinton. He was employed by the Rath packing Co. for 27 years. Five years ago, he transferred to the Rath plant in Denver, Colo. After that plant closed, he became associated with the Samsonite Corp. in Denver. Mr. Tann was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Lakewood and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 764, and was a boys' baseball coach for the Optimist Club.
Survivors include his wife; four sons: Stanley E. of 4137 North Ave.; Gary E. of 410 Bourland Ave., Gaylen J. of 3024 Saratoga Drive and Bennie D. Owen, at home; four daughters: Mrs. Errol Brown of 3024 Saratoga Drive, Mrs. Sharon Kemp of 231 Madison St., Mrs. Russell Gardner of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Mrs. Rodger Handy of Marshalltown; two brothers, Robert of Fayette and George of Rosemead, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Addler of Elgin, Minn., and Mrs. Elizabeth Winters of Dover, Minn., and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
Friends who wish may give memorials in his name to the Bethel United Presbyterian Church memorial fund. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethel United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Earle McCrea, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories. Friends may call at Chapel of Memories West from Friday noon until Saturday noon and at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
