Peggy Eileen Edmonds

(20 May 1949 - 23 May 2003)

Peggy Eileen Craig, 54, of Lenore has passed on to heaven after a sudden heart attack Friday, May 23, 2003.
She was born in Camp Campbell, Ky., May 20, 1949. She lived briefly back East before moving out West. She grew up in California with her sister,
Shirley, and parents, Troy and Gloria Edmonds. They lived in several places in California, including Modesto, Panamint Valley, Lone Pine and finally in Bishop.
Peggy met her future husband, Jim Craig, while in her sophomore year in high school. She graduated from Bishop High School in 1966.
She and Jim were married Aug. 13, 1966, in Carson City, Nev. They had two wonderful daughters while in Bishop. After a brief stay in Bakersfield, Calif., they moved the family to Carson City and eventually settled in Lewiston in 1979. They would have celebrated 37 years of marriage this summer.
She was extremely talented in her employment outside the home. She had a gifted mind and wouldn't hesitate to help coworkers for growth and benefit of all concerned. People were always asking for advice on work-related matters.
She cared deeply for the well-being of everyone who came in contact with her. Peggy received many plaques and awards for exceptional work she provided.
She was finishing up the last few years of her work career, which spanned more than eight years at Lewis-Clark State College. She and her husband, Jim, planned to retire within the next five years.
Peggy and Jim built their retirement dream home in Lenore in 2000, with the tremendous help of both daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Jim, at their home in Lenore; her daughter, Jennifer Wilcoxon and husband Jim and their children, Brian, Troy, Michelle and Erica, at their Lewiston home; her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Johnson and husband Tim and their children, Craig and Emily, at their Hayden, Idaho, home; mother-in-law Dorothy Craig of Lewiston; sister Shirley McKellar of Reno, Nev., and her children, Troy Dews of Reno and Shelly Kendall of Apple Valley, Calif.
A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston. Family and friends are then invited to attend a celebration of Peggy's life at a covered-dish luncheon at 1024 Richardson Ave., Lewiston.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Peggy Craig Memorial Fund, 20795 Ryegrass Lane, Lenore, ID 83541, in care of Jim Craig.
