Muriel Ruth “Mickey” Page, 97, passed from this life on April 14, 2018 at Redbud Assisted Living in Perkins, Oklahoma. Her Graveside service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mickey was born on May 10, 1920, to John R. and Ola (Choate) Wright in Texola, OK. She graduated from Erick High School in 1938 and attended OSU, working as a secretary while attending school. She married Raymond E. “Gus” Page on August 10, 1940, in Erick, OK.
From 1965 – 1967, Mickey went to Ethiopia to the Halle Selassi I University Alemaya College for the Point 4 Program at Oklahoma State University. She went with her husband and two children and worked as secretary to the President of the University while there. During those two years, Mickey and her family were able to travel to many places including the Holy Land in Jerusalem; Beirut, Lebanon; Nairobi, Kenya; and many European countries as well.
Mickey’s favorite pastimes included her flowers and gardening, recipe collecting, cooking her family’s favorite dishes and sharing her famous collection of jokes with everyone. However, Mickey was most proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed many trips and vacations with them. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, OK.
Mickey is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant sister and her daughter, Patti Page.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Keith and husband David of Stillwater; one grandson, Justin Keith and wife Maria of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter, Kelly Keith Suero and husband Leo of Troy, AL; two great grandchildren, Jaden and Gabriel both of Oklahoma City; two first cousins, Rick and Sandy of Redding, CA.
The family wishes to thank Redbud Assisted Living Center in Perkins, OK, Good Shepherd Hospice, Dr. Emde, his nurse, Susie and staff. Their caring and dedication will never be forgotten.
