Catherine Elizabeth Schroeder, age 86, of Irvington, VA died Wednesday, April 15, 2009. She was the widow of Capt. William A. "Tank" Schroeder, Jr. and is survived by three sons; William A. Schroeder, III of Islamorada, FL; Jeffrey A. Schroeder of Irvington, VA and David A. Schroeder of College Grove, TN; five grandchildren and a sister, Anna Rose Aguiluz of New Orleans, LA and a number of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 18, 2009 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock, VA with interment to follow at Historic Christ Church Burying Ground, Irvington, VA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catherine Schroeder Scholarship Fund, c/o Chesapeake Academy, P. O. Box 8, Irvington, VA 22480.
