PORTER, PEARL J., age 81, of Birmingham, Ala., went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2009. She was born on July 29, 1927 to the late Fred and Buena Jinks. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children: Douglas (Jeanne) Davis, Rusty (Pat) Porter, Candy (Joel) Watson, Sandra (Dale) Jones, Chris (Jan) Porter; Grandchildren: Steven Davis, Gina Marie (Greg) Colby, April (Kevin) Cook, Josh (Whitney) Watson, Jeffrey Watson, Tasha Porter, Kalah Porter, Jamie Watson, Brian Jones; Great Grandchildren: Alex, Ashley, and David Cook, and Sarah Colby. Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2009 at Elmwood Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood cemetery. A very special thanks to Myrna Martin, RN, Sherry Chamblee, CNA, and Reece Sherman, Chaplain, from Evercare Hospice for their kindness and support.
