"The LaFayette Sun" - June 16, 1915:
Mr. Jas. C. Griffin returned last Monday from a nice outing trip. He took in the reunion of the old Confederate veterans at Richmond and then spent several days in Washington, and on the return journey stopped a while at Atlanta, visiting relatives and friends in that city. Mr. Griffin reports an interesting time in Richmond; the old veterans had a good time, were well cared for in every way – the only trouble was some bad weather that somewhat interfered with their enjoyment. In Washington he visited Mr. W. N. Bragaw, an old LaFayette citizen, who was familiarly known as "Neil", with whom he had a pleasant time. Mr. Bragaw is doing well and had many questions to ask about the old town and its people and sends through Mr. Griffin his kindest regards to his old friends.
