Hortense "Jimmy" Schurman

Hortense S. "Jimmy" Tomei died May 18 [1987] at Evanston Hospital at the age of 83. Born in Fremont. Neb., she had lived in Northfield for 51 years. Mrs. Tomei's father was Otto Schurman. Her mother, Mira Lee Schurman was the daughter of Henry James Lee, who migrated to Fremont from Bradford County, Pa. His wife, Sarah Ellsworth Lee, was a direct descendant of Oliver Ellsworth. She is survived by her husband, Felix J. Tomei; a daughter Mira Lee Loran of Aurora; a son, Felix III of Farmington, Conn.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Another son was the late Peter Andrew Tomei.
