Sam or "Sambo" as he was called by his family and friends was born August 11, 1903 in Porum, Oklahoma, one of seven children to Marion and Lula (Wilburn) Blair. After his father passed away the family moved several times before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. 
Sam married Lucille Kozak in 1933 they had two son's. 
Sam died at age 73 of an apparent heart attack in Pryor, Oklahoma while fishing at his brother's boat dock. Sam, is survived by 2 sons, and brother, Doc Blair, Tulsa; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He was buried at Memorial Park next to his wife.
