David Ray Smith, 65, of Edmond, Okla. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2009.
David was born June 28, 1943 in Denison, where he played football for the Denison Yellow Jackets. His love for football did not stop there. After graduation he went to play football for Henderson County Junior College and then for Oklahoma State University. David married the love of his life, Adrienne (Roberts) Smith on Aug. 1, 1970. They had their only daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith on Dec. 18, 1972.
David's greatest joys were spending time with his family, keeping up with Oklahoma State athletics, and NASCAR.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gertrude Smith of Denison; his sister Marilyn, and his beloved wife, Adrienne Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Liz Smith and grandson, Hunter Todd of Edmond, Okla.; his sister, Martyne Revelle of Oregon and many friends that loved him dearly.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, Okla.
