Peter Wadkin Coleman Sr.

Peter Wadkin Coleman, 64, well-known Caruthersville business man, died suddenly Saturday, November 2, while on a trip to Memphis. Mr. and Mrs. Coleman had driven to the Tennessee city to meet his sister-in-law, Mrs. H.P. Coleman, who arrived there by plane from Long Beach, Calif. and he became ill soon after they left the airport. He died shortly after arrival, in an ambulance, at the Methodist Hospital.
Born near Steele on January 8, 1899, he was the son of the late Harry P. and Cora Michie Coleman. For several years after his marriage the family lived in Long Beach, coming to Caruthersville to live 25 or more years ago. He operated a real estate office at Steele and farmed in that area until 1957 when he retired because of ill health.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Beulah Coleman of the city; two sons, Robert of Hayti and Peter W., Jr. of this city; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Eastwood Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Floyd V. Brower officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with LaForge service.
