Dorothy Mae Cook

Dorothy Mae Cochran, nee Cook, was born in Arvada, Colorado on October 17, 1928 to Frederick Leroy Cook and Jessie May Diagle. She was widowed on April 3, 1990 by her husband Francis "Frank" Cochran, a beloved barber on 44th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She received her Associates Degree in nursing as an LPN from Sterling Community College in 1965 and worked for Dr. Moore in Denver, Colorado, until the doctor's retirement. Dorothy spent the last 9 years of her working life at Walmart. She gave birth to five children; three daughters, and two sons. Steven Strange lived three days and died in June of 1948. Timothy Eugene Trusty passed away on October 3, 1989 at the age of 33. Dorothy is survived by three daughters: Cheri Lea Hager of Arvada, Colorado; Laureil Blyth of Sydney, Austrailia; Billee Dea Riggs of Northglenn, Colorado; 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by one brother and three sisters: Gordon, Kathleen, Florence, and Pauline.
Dorothy was adored by her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, as well as beloved by all who knew her.
The funeral service will be held Monday, September 19, 2016 starting at 10:00 am in the Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel, located at 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. Burial is to follow the service at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
