The three sons of this man could be the three "Bloody Greers" of family legend who fought in the Revolutionary War.
Thomas Greer was paid on July 19, 1787 by the state of South Carolina, for wagon service, two horses, and 300 pounds of pork supplied the Militia in 1782 and 1783.
Joseph and Robert Greer were among the signers of the The Cumberland Association declaration. The Cumberland Association was a declaration, 20 June 1775, signed by citizens of Cumberland County, N.C., associating to resist Britain.
