Erma Foster

Erma Warner age 75 departed this life on December 19, 2013 

Erma was born February 28, 1938 in Osceola, Missouri to Champ Clark Foster and Lora Lee (Nance) Foster. Her parents have preceded her in death. Erma grew up in Lowry City in the Tally Bend area going to Wrights Creek School and graduated from Lowry City Consolidated High School in 1954. She was married June 29, 1956 to Frank Warner in Kansas City, Missouri where they raised their three children. After 24 years she retired from the Social Security Administration on September 28, 1995, she and her husband sold their home in Kansas City and took up permanent residence in the house they built on land once owned by her grandfather Guilford Park Foster in the Tally Bend area. They called their home that sat on 22 acres “The Flying W Mule Farm and Coon Dog Emporium. Erma and Frank loved to have company, family and friends over hosting many a family reunion and bible study. 

Erma is a descendant of several pioneer families of St. Clair County, Reuben Sanders Nance, James Foster, Tilman Thompson and Franklin Choice to name a few. Her parents once operated the Osceola Locker Plant from 1956 to 1970. Erma’s mother Lora Lee Foster served two terms as St. Clair County Clerk after the locker plant closed. 

Erma was a loving wife and mother, a faithful Christian becoming a member of Greendale Baptist Church in Kansas City and later a member of the First Baptist Church of Lowry City. She taught Sunday School for third and fourth graders many years, was active in the Women’s Missionary Union and Vacation Bible School as teacher and director. 

She is survived by her children Kathy Gilmore (Everett) of Edgerton, Missouri, Rhonda Wilhite (Larry) of Independence, Missouri, Jeff Warner (Pam) of Kansas City, Missouri. A brother, Vernon Clark Foster of Loveland, Ohio. Her Uncle Vernon Nance, Kansas City, Missouri and Six grandchildren Rachel Wilhite of Kansas City, Missouri, Caleb Gilmore of Blytheville Arkansas, Jessie Kunzler of Blue Springs, Missouri, Joshua Warner of Palm Springs, California, Jill Brooks, Smithville, Missouri, Kelsey Warner of Kansas City, Missouri and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn their loss but know it is Heaven’s gain. Her prayers and influence will live on in their hearts for years to come. 

Erma will be buried at Wrights Creek Cemetery next to her husband Frank Warner who passed away August 26, 2013. 

The family would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to each and every one for their acts of kindness in either word or deed during the illness and after the death of our mother.
