On Sunday, August 23, 2009, ROBERT LEE "BOB" JOHNSON passed away in his home with family and friends at his side after a long illness. Bob was born 80 years ago on August 19, 1929 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Carl O. Johnson and Luella Harris Johnson. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1958 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Conoco for 30 years before retiring in 1988. After retirement, he spent his time playing golf, spending time with friends and family, traveling and working in his woodworking shop. He was an active member of Northwoods Presbyterian Church. He was a doting grandfather. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean Johnson; daughters, Lesli Johnson, husband, Larry Guy, Linda Johnson; son, David Johnson, wife, Nicole Johnson; four grandchildren, Matthew, Hayden, Samantha and Ian. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 29th, 10:30 a.m. at Northwoods Presbyterian Church, F.M. 1960 and T.C. Jester. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorials donations be made in Bob's name to Northwoods Presbyteran Church, 3320 F.M. 1960 Road West, Houston, TX 77068 or Northwest Assistance Ministries, 15555 Kuykendahl, Houston, TX 77090.
