Williams and his family moved westward over the years of the late 1800's and were enumerated in Wisconsin and Iowa, as well as California.
He served in the Civil War as Sergt. Major, 2nd Massachusetts Cavalry.
An obituary was published in the Pasadena Daily News on 31 Dec 1904, page 4.
