Delphine Diehl Shuster died peacefully at Plantation Health Care Center in Lake Jackson, Texas, on May 1, 2010. Delphine was the youngest of five children born to George and Hazel Diehl in Spring Branch, Texas on March 20, 1926. She married her husband, Woodrow Shuster, Sr. on December 5, 1940. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brazoria.
Mrs. Schuster is predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband, son Dickie Schuster, and grandson Kenneth Nevill.
She is survived by her children: Lois Withrow (George), Woodrow Schuster, Jr., Donald Schuster (Gwenda), and Teddy Shuster (Lynn). "Granny" had ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren. In her last week, Granny said that being a grandmother was the greatest pleasure in her life.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Plantation Health Care Center for the wonderful care they have provided for the last few years and to A-Med Community Hospice for the comfort they provided in her last weeks.
Visitation will be held at 6pm -8pm Thursday at Lakewood Chapel. Graveside services will be 10 am Friday, May 8, 2010 at Brazoria Cemetery with Rev. Greg Smith officiating.
