Wife of Robert W Baker From Amarillo Paper: Effie L. Baker Effie L. Baker, 89, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5401 Bell St., with Bishop Bruce L. Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Dalhart by SchoolerGordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Baker was born in Dalhart and moved to Amarillo 18 years ago. She graduated in 1931 from Brantley Draughon Business College at Fort Worth. She was a secretary for several years and later a homemaker. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was a life member of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Amarillo. Her husband, Robert W. Baker, preceded her in death. Survivors include two nephews, Jerry Conner of Hurst and Danny Conner of Houston. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.
