Jewel Mae Polk

Jewel Mae Polk Yarnell passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 92 in Georgetown, Texas with her daughter by her side. Jewel was born to the late Frank and Mae Polk on February 12, 1922 in Mason, Texas. Jewel was a life-long resident of Mason. She had many passions in life. She loved the Lord and was a member of the First Christian Church of Mason for many years. She loved animals, caring for people, genealogy and the history of Mason County. At the age of 42, Jewel received her License of Vocational Nursing and for the next 35 years took care of many Mason County residents. At the end of her career she taught Certified Nurse Aide classes to many women in Mason. To her grandchildren, Jewel was known as “Mimi”. She was very close to each of her grandchildren. She took them on trips, took care of them, left them each with wonderful memories and showed them the true meaning of a grandmother. Jewel was preceded in death by her father Frank Polk, mother Mae Polk, brother Larry Rex “Little Rex” Polk and husband Hilton Yarnell. 

Jewel is survived by her daughter, Ricki Klingelhefer Adams of Georgetown, son Rex Klingelhefer of Mason and son Robin Klingelhefer and his wife Anna of Mason. Jewel had two step-sons Jim Yarnell of Weatherford and David Yarnell of Biggs. She is survived by five grandchildren, Nikki Adams Sills and Fiance` Dean stringer of Mason, Corey Klingelhefer and wife Christi of Spring Branch, Lance Adams and wife Tammy of Cedar Park, Cassie Klingelhefer Schreiber and husband David of New Braunfels and Ben Klingelhefer and wife Nicole of Leander and three step-grandchildren, Doug Yarnell and wife Cindy of Weatherford, Kal,I Yarnell Lussier and husband Jared of Weatherford and Taylor Yarnell of Manchaca. She is also survived by twelve beautiful great-grandchildren, Landon Hawkins, Lacee and Lexi Sills, Kelsi and Caden Kliongelhefer, Alyussa and Jadon Schreiber and Tucker, Ava, Steele, Titus and Hattie Mae Klingelhefer and four step grandchildren, TRJ Yarnell, Kendall Yarnell, Bretton Lussier and Cooper Lussier.
