Glenn Miller "Moondog" Merrifield

Funeral services for Glenn Merrifield, age 63, of Bangs, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Benny Allcorn officiating. Graveside service with military honors will be at Norton Cemetery at 2:00 that afternoon under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Merrifield died Sunday morning at the VA Hospital in Temple.
Glenn was born August 31, 1946 in Winters, Texas, the son of William Turner and Stella Mae (Roe) Merrifield.  He was a member of the Lake Brownwood United Methodist Church and was a welder. Glenn proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Viet Nam War.
Survivors include children, Oddus Merrifield of Wichita Falls, Steven “Sam” Merrifield of Wichita Falls and Wendy and Bryan Walker of Los Vegas, Nevada; sister, Loice Osborn of Bangs; nephew, Tony Osborn and several grandchildren and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Bryan Osborn.
