James Fears

(1790 - 1863)

James Fears was a veteran of the War of 1812. He entered the military service in Savannah, Georgia and was attached to Capt. George Kennedy's Company of Augusta Independent Blues, Georgia Militia. He migrated to Tuscaloosa County about 1821.

James Fears, Capt Kennedy's Co., GA., Militia War 1812 served Jan 26, 1815 to Mar 1 1815. In the state of AL, County of Tusc. on Dec 5, 1850, he declares he was a corporal in Co. of George Kennedy of the Augusta Independent Blues, War of 1812, was mustered into service of U.S. at Savannah 1815 for no definite period. Discharged at Savannah after 2mos or over after disbanding of the army after peace was known.
On Sept 1855, James age 66 declared he was a private in George Canady's Co, Rec'd land warrant No. 19233 for 40 acres.

James FEARS (Absolom FEARS6, Edmund FEARS5, FEARS4, James FEAR3, Thomas FEAR2, Thomas FEAR1) was born 1787 in Georgia, and died 1863 in Alabama. He was buried 1863 in Old Northport Cemetery, Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He married Judith BINION 1815, daughter of William Binion. She was born 1797 in Hancock County, Georgia, and died in Waxahatchie, Ellis County, Texas
