Mrs. W. G. Sherman died at her home at 610 West Fourth street on Friday, February 18, 1921, following a long and protracted illness due to cancer. Her death was not unexpected for she had been a constant sufferer for over two years.
Her maiden name was Cora M. Johnson and she was born at Fairmont, Minnesota, January 6, 1866. At the time of her death she was 55 years, 1 month and 12 days old. She was united in marriage to George W. Fowler January 6, 1890 (sic -- actual date January 30). To this union were born four children, Florine, Emma and George, one was taken by death. Mr. Fowler departed life in the year 1901.
On July 18, 1908, she was married to W. G. Sherman, who is the father of three children, two daughters and one son. She united with the Christian church in Spencer in June, 1901, and was baptized by Rev, F. D. Macy. Mrs. Sherman leaves to mourn her death, her husband, aged mother, two daughters, Mrs. Florine Sanders of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Emma Syndergaard of Royal, one son, George Fowler, of Fort Dodge, three step-children, six grandchildren and many friends.
She was a good companion, a loving mother, a good neighbor and ready to answer the call.

Funeral services for Mrs. W. G. Sherman, who passed away at her home, 610 West Fourth street, Friday, February 18, 1921; were conducted at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon, February 20, 1921, by Rev. W. F. Hurst, pastor of the Christian church of Spencer.
Cora M. Johnson was born in Fairmont, Minnesota, January 6, 1866. She was united in marriage on January 6, 1890 (sic), to Mr. George W. Fowler, who died in the year 1901. To this union four children were born, three of them, Mrs. Florine Sanders of Ft. Dodge, Mrs. Emma Syndergaard of Royal, and George Fowler of Ft. Dodge, are living at the present time.
On July 18, 1908, she was married to W. G. Sherman of Spencer. Besides her husband and the above mentioned children, she leaves to mourn her departure an aged mother, three stepchildren and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Sherman was a good woman, loved and respected by all who knew her and a faithful worker, of the Christian church of which she has been a member for a number of years.
