William Tilley

His first residence here is unknown but in was living in Barnstable by 1640, Boston by 1647, and Cape Porpus by 1649.
OCCUPATION: Wine merchant. 
EDUCATION: Signed legal documents.
OFFICEHOLDING: "Will[ia]m Tilly" was in the Barnstable section of the 1643 Plymouth Colony list of men able to bear arms.
ESTATE: On 26 June 1649, "Alice Tilly (affirming she hath power from her husband) did grant to Anthonie Stoddard of Boston, merchant, … one dwelling house of her husband William Tillie's with the ground, yard & appurtenances to the same belonging … and Hugh Gunnison" warranteed the sale.
He was born about 1607 (aged 28 on 19 June 1635; "aged about fifty-three years" on 13 April 1660). He died after 27 March 1668 (when Alice Tilly referred to herself as "the wife of William Tilly").
CHILDREN: None recorded.
ASSOCIATIONS: William Tilley may have been closely related to NATHANIEL TILLEY who sailed for New England on the same vessel in 1635
