Individual Details
William Scott
(Abt 1450 - Apr 1498)
William was probably born about 1450. He surely died at a very young age, as his son Richard outlived him by over sixty years. He made a very brief will on April 24, 1498, naming his sons Richard and Thomas. He doesn't mention his wife, but in a later Glemsford tax list, there is named a widow Clemence Scott. Son Thomas also named a daughter Clemence, which is further evidence that William's wife was named Clemence. William must have been well to do, because he had land and buildings in seven parishes in Suffolk. He died in Glemsford in April, 1498 and, as requested in his will, was buried in the churchyard of St. Mary the Virgin Church.
