Virginia K. Byers

Virginia C. Carpenter, 89, of Bronson, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bronson with Pastor John Fields officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson. Interment will follow at East Gilead Cemetery in Gilead Township.
Virginia was born April 5, 1921 in Argos, Ind. to Ernest and Addie Belle (Compton) Byers. She married Charles W. Carpenter on Sept. 5, 1940 in Defiance, Ohio. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1995.
Mrs. Carpenter was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bronson. She enjoyed taking part in many church activities, socializing with friends and flower gardening. Virginia was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker who adored her family, especially her many grandchildren. 
Virginia is survived by her daughters Betty Lou Walker and Debbie and Rick Morris, all of Bronson, her grandchildren Angie, Carey, John, Lori, Mary Ann, Julie and Nancy, 18 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Charles, Virginia was preceded in death by her sisters Edith Eckman and Martha Andrews and her brother Charles Byers. 
Memorials may be directed to The First Baptist Church in Bronson.
