Frank Herchell Deller Sr.
(18 Jan 1854 - 25 Oct 1936)
Frank Deller, son of Benjamin and Hannah (Wolf) Deller, was born in Williams County, Ohio, January 18, 1854, and departed this life October 25, 1936, at the home of his son, Lowell, where he had received tender, loving care for the past few months, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 7 days.
When a small child, he came with his parents from Ohio to Indiana settling on a farm in Scott township, Steuben county, which has been his home continuously with the exception of a year spent in Kansas. He was of a family of seven children, all having preceded him and death. He received a good education in the district schools, and in the Seminary located in Angola.
On March 18, 1877, he was united in marriage with Clara Cleveland and to this union were born William, Lowell, Ella, now Mrs. Cary Covell, Margie, now Mrs. Carl Sanders, Frank H., and Wayne, all of whom survive. Mr. Deller was proud of his family-interested in their early education, and continuously in their welfare.
He was known throughout the country and among his neighbors and friends as an exceedingly industrious citizen, always noted for his honesty and integrity. Since the death of his good wife, May 23, 1931, he has been very lonely, always longing for his companion of so many years. There must be a happy reunion over there.
He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints.
Besides his six children, he leaves 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral was conducted from South Scott church, Oct. 27, Rev. S. W. L. Scott, of Coldwater Mich., preached the sermon to a very large audience. Impressive music was rendered by Mrs. Ethel Weaver and her accompanist. Floral offerings were profuse. Interment in the South Scott cemetery.
