Jewell Sidney Ford

Jewell Sidney Ford Tatom, 88, formerly of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away peacefully at her home in Charlotte on August 13, 2018 surrounded by her daughters.
Sidney was born on October 23, 1929 in Montgomery, AL to the late Julian Clifford Ford and Emma Jewell Walker Ford. She attended Wesleyan College and Duke University.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Tatom, III, MD, in 1961.
She is survived by her daughters Nancy Tatom and Sarah Tatom Myers and her granddaughters Rachel Touchstone, Hannah Myers, and Rebecca Myers Noe.
Sidney is most remembered for her generous and loving spirit, her great intellect and sense of humor, and her insatiable curiosity and love of reading. She was a Master Gardener and Regent of the Charlotte Bay Chapter of the DAR in Punta Gorda, FL. She moved to Charlotte in 2017 and was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Huntersville.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society(http://www.lls.org/). A memorial service will be announced by St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, FL.
