Hawley Wilson Ingram Jr.

Hawley Wilson Ingram, Jr. died March 7, 2015. Hawley retired from First Tennessee Bank after 41 years of service. A native Memphian, he graduated from the University of Memphis and attended Banking School at LSU. Hawley served in the Strategic Air Command of the United States Air Force. He was president of the Downtown Lions Club and a former member of the East Memphis Kiwanis. His service expanded to other regions as he served on the Board of the Ozark Conference in Arkansas and the World Outreach Committee of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, as well as being active in Second Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and later as Elder Emeritus. Hawley and his wife, Lawanna, began Second’s outreach to International students. He taught the International Sunday School Class for 14 years and served various ways in World Missions. They enjoyed continued contact with international friends scattered around the world. His heart was in Scotland, having read much about its history and traveled there several times, and enjoyed fishing at their lake cottage in Mississippi. Hawley is survived by his wife, Lawanna Walker Ingram, two sons, Bruce and Russell (Holly) as well as one granddaughter, Olivia, and two namesakes, Mark Hawley Yang and Paul Hawley Yang. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 10 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Second Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. in the Salmon Room. In lieu of flowers, the family request any remembrances be made in his name to World Missions at Second Presbyterian Church. Canale Funeral Directors.
