Herbert Carl "Bummie" Roton
(28 Aug 1913 - 3 Aug 2002)
Professional football player. After graduating from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, he went to Auburn. A tackle, he helped lead Auburn to an 8-2 record in 1935 and a 7-2-2 mark in 1936, including the Tigers' first bowl appearance in the Bacardi Bowl in Havana, Cuba. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and played nine regular season games with them in 1937.
