Anna Mae Kasparek

Anna Mae Herrick, 92, of Connersville, IN, died Friday morning, May 9, 2008, in the Heritage House of Connersville, where she had been a resident since March 6, 2008.
She was born May 24, 1915, in Jeannette, PA, the only child of Charles and Dorthea Greiner Kasparek. Raised in Pennsylvania, she was a graduate of Jeannette High School. Following her graduation, she worked as a department store clerk.
In March 1940, she was married to David B. Herrick of St. Petersburg, FL, after meeting him while he was an engineer with the Elliott Company in Jeannette. Mr. Herrick obtained an engineering position with Roots Blower and Vacuum Division of Dresser Industries, and moved the family to Connersville in 1950 where they lived until he was transferred to Bradford, PA, in 1965. They returned to Connersville in 1967. Mr. Herrick died in 1976.
Anna Mae was a classically trained soloist and was an accomplished pianist and organist. Before moving to Connersville, she was a soloist with three churches in Pittsburgh. In Connersville, she and her husband were active members of Central Christian Church and later Grand Avenue Methodist Church. After her husband's death, Anna Mae became an active member of Peace Lutheran Church. At the time of her death, she was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church.
Besides her love of music, she enjoyed playing bridge, was active in the Connersville Culture Club, past president of the Connersville Garden Club, and member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority, the Richmond Choral Society, and the Richmond Organist Guild.
Survivors include two daughters: Linda Ward and partner, Alex-Michael Hoehne, of Connersville and Senlin Long and husband, Michael, of Woodstock, GA; a granddaughter: Heidi Oldenburg and husband, Kent, of Woodstock, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kimmie Oldenburg of Woodstock, GA.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Kimberly Long.
A Memorial Service will be conducted by Reverend Martha Williams-Jordan at 10 AM Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, 700 Central Avenue, Connersville, Indiana. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Friends may visit anytime online to sign a guestbook and send condolences to the family at www.millermosterrobbins.com. Internment will be in the Union Cemetery in Lyonsville.
