YARMOUTHPORT - Pomeroy T. "Pete" Francis, 90, died Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Priscilla (Thorndike) Francis for 61 years. Mr. Francis was born in New York City. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served from 1943 to 1945 and achieved the rank of first-class quartermaster. He graduated from the University of Texas and was a chemical engineer before working as a stockbroker. He retired in 1974 and moved to Cape Cod from Villanova, Pa. He enjoyed photography, golf and tennis. Besides his wife, survivors include two children, Priscilla F. Jackett of Provincetown and Peter T. Francis of Woodstock, Md. a sister, Elizabeth F. Hudson of Versailles, Ky. two grandsons a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at Church of St. Mary of the Harbor, 517 Commercial St., Provincetown, followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. at Woodside Cemetery, Summer Street, Yarmouthport. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue League of Boston, Route 6A, East Brewster, MA 02631.
