Kenneth Charles Barnes, 79, of Wichita Falls died Tuesday July 30, 2002 at his home. Graveside services were held Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Crestview Memorial Park with Tom Rogers of Grace Church officiating. Arrangements were by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Mr. Barnes was born July 9, 1923 in Roby and moved to Wichita Falls from Midland in 1957. He married Janie Haggard September 7, 1945 in Sweetwater.
Mr.Barnes attended Texas A&M University before serving in the US Army during WWII in the 137th Signal Radio Inteligence Company. He was a member of the V.F.W. and had owned and operated Day & Night Grocery for many years.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Kanda Castles and husband Mike of Wichita Falls and Karolyn Smith and husband Doug of Archer City; one son, Shane Barnes and wife Debbie of San Antonio; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janie Barnes in 1979 and one brother Billy Bob Barnes.
