Individual Details
Daniel Fox Goldsmith
(22 May 1784 - 5 Dec 1855)
An early pioneer to the Evansville area. Daniel established a family farm from the wilderness between what is First Street and Center Ridge Road in the Evansville area of Southern Indiana in the early 1800s. He married Melissa Hopkins on March 27, 1823. They had 10 children. The farm survived in the Goldsmith family for almost 100 years until the early 1900s.
He and his wife and some of his family were buried on the family farm as was done in those days. Eventually, the farm was developed into a subdivison. His Great Great Grandsons Clarence and Earl loving removed the headstones and they now rest at Campground Cemetery. The memories rest within the hearts of their descendants.
