Charlie Christie was the oldest son of Robert and Elizabeth Wheeler Christie. He was married 3 times. His first wife was Martha Adeline Davis. They were married on Sept. 10, 1884 in Columbia County, Fla. They had 12 children, 9 of which lived to adulthood. The children were : Benjamin b.03/18/1886;Robert Charles b.12/12/1886;John Martin b.07/11/1888; Ola b. 03/09/1891;Finley Charles b.12/22/1894; William Asbury b.09/09/1896; Norman b.12/10/1898; Henry "Dutch" b.09/15/1900 and Marvin Charles b.07/01/1902.When Martha died, Charlie married Mary Elizabeth Ogburn on 07/29/1906. They also had 12 children,seven (7) of which lived to adulthood. These children were: Zola b.02/18/1908; L.D. born 04/09/1909;Addie Mae b. 03/12/1912; George b. 06/19/1915;Raymond b. 12/09/1916; Clyde Price b.04/08/1919;Herbert b. 02/12/1920 and Mary Elizabeth b. 03/14/1926. Mary died giving birth to Mary Elizabeth and the child was named after her. Her brother, William Asbury took her and cared for her until she died at a young age. Charlie's 3rd wife was Phelby Simmons. They married on 04/10/1932. They did not have children together. Charlie was a farmer and lived in north Columbia County near the Suwannee River.
