To all etc. whereas etc. now know ye that I Francis: Lord Howard Governor / doe with the advice and Counsel of the Council of State accordingly give and Grant unto Mr Anthony Dowden of Middlesex County / Seven hundred acres of land situated lying and being in the / aforesaid County and bounded as followeth Beginning at a Corner red / oake of a [ ] of land Belonging to Mr. Maurice Cock / called Jamaicas land, being the Beginning of a tract of land / belonging to Mr James Jones, & running thoward North North / West four hundred forty five poles by an old line of nearby trees / supposed of Mr Jones line to a Hickory by a branch, thence / North Eight Degrees West two hundred & fifteen poles to two / red oakes by a [ ], thence North twenty five degrees East fifty / poles to a Cornor Spanish oake of Thomas Taylors land / Thence by his line [ ] East three hundred fourty / five poles to Hoopers land to a red oake, thence by a land / Line thirty five deg West fifty four poles to a white oake on / the brow of a hill, thence South thirty seven deg East one hundred / & seventy poles to a Corner red oak on a Levell, thence Continuing / ye same course to sd Jamaica Land and thence four [ ] to ye / place it began. That land being due by & for ye transportation of fourteen persons &c. To Have & to Hold & to be Held &c yielding / & paying &c provided &c dated ye 23rd day of April 1688. one negro Ed. Clark, James Shanon, James Bartlett, Jno Rood, / James Clark, Robt. Pryor, Robt. Canon, Nicho Roberts, Nicho Hasletine, / Saml. Staples, Mary Priest, Rachell Parkes, Wm Nothate.
