John Edward Thorley

Edward Thorley was probably a brother of Mary Keene. The Thomas Keene mentioned in Edward Thorley's will (he called him cousin which was nephew in that day) was the son of Mary Keene. Mary Keene had died 1662 before her brother's death in 1678. Mary Keene married two more times, and died in Northumberland County, Virginia.
Will of Edward Thorley: "To my three sons, Edward, John, and Samuel, Pascall's Chance in Talbot County to be equally divided...should sons die, the estate to be equally divided among all of my children. To my daughters, personalty. To my cousin Thomas Keene, personlty. "The Exors was his wife, Mary, witnesses were Thomas Kington, Thomas Sheppard and Thomas Williams.
Edward resided in Talbot County, which lies just south of Kent Island, and Anne Arundel is across the Chesapeake Bay from it on the west. The Keenes were Kent Islanders before they fled to Northumberland County, Virginia in the 1640s, along with the children and widow of Giles Bashaw.
