We regret to inform all of the Alumni and the class of 1965 that George James Holly died October 28, 2004.
He was born Nov. 3, 1947, in Atlanta and came to Venice four years ago. He graduated in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in transportation management from the University of Tennessee. He received a master's degree in acquisition management from Florida Institute of Technology. He was a career soldier, retiring in 1987 as an Army major, and was decorated for service in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, he was chief operating officer for Nations Inc.
He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hines of Venice; his parents, Geore and Dorothy of Sarasota, and a brother, Maj. Gen. John Holly.
