"Amy Mehrten of Kaweah Dies -
Amy M. Mehrten, 80, a resident of Tulare County for 73 years, diedSunday afternoon in a Lindsay hospital.
Mrs. Mehrten, who made her home at Kaweah, was born in Severy, Kan.,but moved to Tulare County at the age of seven. She attended schoolsat Tulare and was married to the late James Aa. Mehrten in Tulare in1902. Mr. Mehrten died March 18, 1961, at Three Rivers.
Mr. and Mrs. Mehrten lived in Three Rivers for about a year aftertheir marriage and then moved to a ranch at Kaweah.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norma M. Lowery of Lindsay andMrs. Myrtle E. Cowell of Alameda, and a sister, Mrs. Marie DeMastersof Visalia.
Graveside funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the ThreeRivers Cemetery. The Rev. Noel E. Carden will officiate. Friends maycall at the Hadley Funeral Chapel in Exeter until 12:30 p.m.tomorrow."
