Where is Catharine? She was there in 1850 and records don't show another wife named Catharine for him.
1 Jun 1850, District No. 2, Carroll Co., MD, pg. 815, stamped pg. 409:
Peter Babylon, 65 (1784-85), born MD, farmer, real estate of $5,000
Catharine Babylon, 65 (1784-85), born MD
Barbara Babylon, 25 (1824-25), born MD
Matilda Rahn [indexed Raben at ancestry], 17 (1832-33), born MD.
Not positive this Barbara is a daughter - could be a widowed daughter-in-law. There are no daughters in the 1820-25 birth year range in the earlier census.
Note that the photo of gravestone at findagrave spells out January as month of death, even though he was listed in the 1850 census.
NOTE: All children but Barbara are from trees at ancestry and not verified unless a source is cited. Not proven these are children of Peter and Catharine, but it is definitely probable.
