In a conversation with Barbara Duncan Fridlund April, 2000, she recalled that Florence had told her that she wasn't allowed to marry until she was in her 40s and then only her cousin. She was a Mead by birth and by marriage.

Florence's diploma for graduation June 17, 1910 from Proctor, VT, highschool is in the possession of the author.
