Betty Jane McDowell, 80, Marion, died 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller?sMerry Manor after a 10 year battle with Parkinson?s disease.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home,Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 E. Marion St., Converse, with the Rev. BobPreusz officiating. Burial will be in Converse Cemetery. Friends maycall 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Betty Jane McDowell, 80, died at 2 p.m. Saturday in Miller's MerryManor after 10 year battle with Parkinson's disease.
She was born in Center (Kokomo) Ind. to the late Raymond and MableLett on April 9, 1927. Betty graduated from Kokomo High School in1945. Buck and Betty purchased the Blue Room Tavern of Converse in1961 and were owners and operators for several years. Betty enjoyedcooking and loved to share her home cooked meals with all. It was nosecret that Betty loved to help others when there was a need. All willmiss her kindness and big heart.
Survivors include daughters, Thresa (Stan) Dyson, Wabash, Nancy(Denny) Davis, Sweetser; sons, Greg (Paula) McDowell, Fishers, Kevin(Tammy) McDowell, Converse; grandchildren: Tuesday (Ted) Bucher, Troy(Kelly) Dyson, Teal (Kevin) Leming, Shannon McDowell, Shawn McDowell,Heather (Jay) Brady, Lori (Chris) Ferguson, Ryan (Lori) Davis, Terry(Stacey) McDowell, Zach McDowell, Gabby McDowell; step-granddaughters,Errin Morrison, Casie Kraft; 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Victor "Buck"McDowell; son, Victor McDowell, Jr.; sister, Norma.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Owen-Weilert-DuncanFuneral Home, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 East Marion St., Converse,Ind. with the Rev. Bob Preusz officiating. Burial is in ConverseCemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
