In the matter of the Estate of William Lamb, Minor; Appointment of Guardian: States that William Lamb is a minor and has no guardian. John Wasson asked that he be appointed guardian. That was granted and he posted $600 bond. Next item on same page, the guardian filed inventory. Next is an order of sale of real estate. That states that William Lamb was 11 years old. His land is improved and has upon it a dwelling house and out buildings, that those are in a "dilopidated condition" and rapidly decaying. The petition states that he has no funds to do the work needed and because he has only a 1/4 interest in the land, can't rent it or utilize it. States the land is worth $6 an acre. Court ordered the guardian to sell. S 1/2 NW 1/4 and NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 in Section 23 Township 33 Range 26.
Record of May 31, 1886 states Mr. Wasson had the property appraised and on 1 May 1886 sold the 1/4 interest for $250 to James M. Curnutt.The court approved the sale.
Note that on 12 Feb 1886, Ruben Landers & Sarah his wife, John Landers and Henry Landers and Susana Landers his wife, sold their 3/4 interest to this land to the same man.
